What should I do if I haven't heard back from my contact?

Updated on 07/03/2026

Waiting for a response from your contact and not sure what to do? Don't panic: in the vast majority of cases, it's simply a small delay. Here is how to react calmly.

Follow up with your contact via the messaging system

The most effective way is to follow up directly via the Roomlala messaging system. A clear and polite follow-up message is often enough to resolve the situation.

To send your follow-up:

  • Log in to your account, then open your messaging system.
  • Click on the relevant conversation to open it.
  • Write your message, then click on "Send message".

Remember to keep all your communications on the Roomlala messaging system: this way, you keep a record of your conversations and stay protected if needed.

Don't worry if your stay isn't imminent

If the arrival date is not right away, it is completely normal to wait a bit. Both a host and a tenant may need several days to respond.

Everyone checks their messages at their own pace: not receiving an immediate answer does not mean that your request has been ignored. Simply give your contact time to get back to you.

If you really receive no response

Have you followed up and the silence persists? To maximize your chances, it is better not to count on just one conversation:

  • Tenant: don't hesitate to send multiple booking requests for other properties.
  • Host: continue to communicate with other guests interested in your listing.
