Roomlala referral program: how it works and how to earn your rewards
Updated on 09/08/2026
Have you talked about Roomlala to people around you and are wondering what is in it for you? Here is everything you need to know about our referral program and the rewards you can earn.
The basics in a nutshell
Every Roomlala member has a personal referral code. When someone you have referred completes a booking on Roomlala, you receive a reward: a portion of the service fee that Roomlala collects on that booking.
This reward is not a discount code: it is real money, transferred directly to your bank account.
Where to find your referral code
Go to the Referrals section of your profile. Your code is displayed at the top of the page. Simply share it with the people you would like to refer.
Entering your referrer's code
If someone has shared their code with you, enter it in the field provided on the same page and save it. A few things to keep in mind:
- You can only choose a referrer once. Once the code is saved, it cannot be changed.
- You cannot enter your own code.
- Your account must have been created after your referrer's account.
Take a moment to double-check the code before submitting it.
How the reward is calculated
The reward is equal to 30% of the service fee collected by Roomlala on the first payment installment of your referral's booking. The amount therefore depends on the rent and the booking terms: the larger the booking, the larger the reward.
The referral program works both ways: whether your referral is the tenant or the host for the booking, the reward goes to you.
You don't need to do anything: as soon as your referral's booking is confirmed and the host has been paid, the reward will automatically appear in your Referrals section.
The different status of a reward
Each reward shown in your history has a status:
- Pending: the reward is earned but cannot be withdrawn yet. The date it will become available is indicated below the line.
- Available: the reward can be included in a payout request.
- Payout in progress: the reward is part of a payout request currently being processed.
- Paid: the transfer has been completed.
- Cancelled: the booking that generated the reward did not ultimately go through.
The summary at the top of the section gives you an at-a-glance view of the total available, the total pending, and the total already paid.
When does a reward become available
A reward remains pending for 3 days. This period starts on the later of these two dates: the tenant's move-in date or the date the payment was made to the host.
This short waiting period allows us to ensure the booking went smoothly before releasing the funds. Once the period has elapsed, the reward automatically switches to "available".
Sometimes a reward may remain pending for a little longer: certain situations trigger a manual review by our team (for example, when a referrer and a referral share the same contact details). This is just a standard check, not a rejection.
Receiving your rewards
Payouts are not automatic: you trigger them yourself using the button located in the Referrals section. For this button to be active, four conditions must be met:
- Your identity must be verified.
- Your bank details must be registered and validated.
- Your total available rewards must reach €20.
- No other payout request must be in progress.
If any of these conditions are not met, a message will tell you exactly what to fix. The €20 threshold exists for a simple reason: below this amount, transfer fees would exceed the amount sent.
Once the request is submitted, it is reviewed by our team before the funds are sent. You can track its progress in the payment history at the bottom of the Referrals section.
Transfers are made in whole euros. Any remaining cents are not lost: they stay in your account and will be added to your next payout.
Why a reward might be cancelled
A reward is based on a commission actually collected by Roomlala. If that commission is no longer collected, the reward is cancelled. This happens when:
- the booking is cancelled by the tenant or the host;
- the booking is rejected or expires without being validated;
- the payment schedule is recalculated following a change to the booking. In this case, a new reward is created based on the new schedule.
Rewards that have already been paid out are never clawed back.
A few special cases
- You cannot refer yourself: the corresponding reward will be cancelled.
- You cannot earn a reward on a booking where you are the tenant or the host.
- There is no limit to the number of people you can refer.
